Amway has reported 28% sales growth in the Chinese market, reaching ¥17 billion in 2008 ($US2.5billion), Amway Greater China president Yan Zhirong told China Business News. "We have set a double digit growth target for 2009 as China's cosmetics market is projected to be worth ¥50 billion and to expand 12% over the years to come," Yan said.
He also disclosed that Amway plans to spend US$15million expanding production lines in Guangdong, with the introduction of new products including the Atmosphere air cleaning system and eSpring water purifer and other products. Amway is currently awaiting government approval of the plans.
