Amway India announces sales of 2130 crore, beats Loreal, Nivea

According to reports in India's The Economic Times, Amway India achieved sales of 2130 crore (US$433million) in 2011 , an increase of nearly 19% over 2010.

Nutrilte was Amway's top selling brand, with Nutrilite Protein Powder outselling all competition in the country and Nutrilite Daily neck and neck with the top seller, Ranbaxy Revital.

The result means Amway India is outselling well known multinational brands like Nivea, L'Oreal, and Kellogg in the country.

Cindy Van Andel, wife of Amway Chairman, dies at age 57

Amway Chairman Steve Van Andel issued a brief statement Saturday night:

"I am saddened by the loss of my loving wife Cindy Van Andel. She passed away Friday evening after a brief illness. Cindy has been my friend, confidant and partner for almost 33 years of marriage. She was a warm and caring person who could light up an entire room just by her smile. Her heart went out to all she met and she will be greatly missed."

Amway a finalist in Corporate Citizenship Awards

Amway was named as a finalist in the US Chamber of Commerce 2011 Corporate Citizenship Awards . The company was recognized in the Best International Ambassador category for it's Nutrilite Little Bits Program .
