Adam Gilchrist and Amway hand over $250,000 for children with disabilities

Adam Gilchrist, Nutrilite Brand AmbassadorSaturday, 20 June 2009. Nutriway Ambassador Adam Gilchrist today handed over a cheque for $215,000 to TAD organisations around Australia to help fund 350 modified bikes for children with disabilities.

Each bike is modified to allow children to enjoy riding a bike for the first time.

“As a father of three, I know bikes make kids happy. With this funding, we can help fund 350 bikes for children with disabilities,” Adam Gilchrist said.

Adam Gilchrist accepted Amway Australia’s challenge to hit 25 sixes during the recent IPL to earn $15,000 of funding for bikes.

Adam hit 29 sixes, up from 19 sixes during the previous season.

Amway responds to Australian Bush Fires

Amway of Australia will donate $50,000 and a large quantity of personal care and cleaning products to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund.

Amway will also match donations (initially up to $10,000) by Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) and support local IBOs affected by the bushfires.

    I offer my condolences to all of the families of the victims. The Victorian bushfires have devastated many families. Our thoughts are with them at this terrible time.

    Since the tragedy, I have been contacted by many people overseas. They are shocked by the devastation and their sympathies are with the people of Victoria.

    Amway hopes this assistance will help local families and assist communities to rebuild.

Amway Queensland headquarters hosts Doug DeVos

Amway's Doug DeVos at the LoganHolme business centreAMWAY president Doug DeVos visited the company’s Queensland headquarters at Loganholme on Sunday for the first time since the $2million centre opened in November.
Mr DeVos, son of company co-founder Rich DeVos, flew in from the US to inspect the site, which was chosen for its proximity to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
He said the company was investing in its business facilities here because it saw great potential.
“We are financially strong, we are in consumer products that only seem to be modestly impacted at this point by the financial crisis,” he said
“As we look to the future we are still a business planning to grow.”

Australian Government welcomes Amway China to Melbourne

Amway Greater China’s decision to choose Australia as the destination to reward 7000 of its top sales people this month is a huge win for the business events sector, the Minister for Tourism, the Hon Martin Ferguson MP, said today after speaking at the Gala Dinner last night in Melbourne.

Minister Ferguson said the visit to Melbourne by 7000 Amway Greater China sales people is the seventh piece of business to Australia from the company’s operations in Asia since 2005.

“In the past three years Australia has hosted more than 30,000 Amway delegates from the Asia region - generating significant economic benefits for our country,” Minister Ferguson said.

Amway Australia and New Zealand Emerald Plus tour about to Embark

SantoriniOn May 31, 2008 qualified Amway business owners from Amway Australia & New Zealand will be embarking on a luxury Mediterranean Cruise, courtesy of the Amway Corporation. Embarking from Istanbul, Turkey and sailing on the cruise ship Seabourn Spirit, qualifiers will continue through the Greek Isles and finishing in Venice, Italy on June 7.

The trip will include new Emeralds and above as well as requalifying Emeralds who have achieved certain growth goals.
