Asafa Powell injured

Team Nutrilite member and 100 metre World Record holder, Asafa Powell, has experienced an unfortunate setback to his Olympic preparations following an injury to his pectoral muscle.

Although the chest injury is not thought to be serious, Asafa has been forced to pull out of all competitive events for around two months as a precautionary measure. Powell will therefore miss the IAAF events in Doha, Qatar; Oslo, Norway; and Eugene, USA.

In the meantime, Powell is maintaining his training regime, and the fastest man in the world plans to make a comeback at the Jamaican Championships commencing 27th June 2008.
