Amway India announces record sales of Rs 251 crore in September

Direct selling company Amway India said it notched up record monthly sales of Rs 251 crore in Sept '11, compared to Rs 223 crore in the corresponding year-ago month. The firm announced it grew by over 20% in the period July-September '11 compared to the same period last year.
William Pinckney, Amway MD & CEO said in a statement that the firm's nutrition and wellness brands --Nutrilite protein powder and Nutrilite daily -- were Rs 100 crore brands each.
The direct selling firm said it hoped to achieve a turnover of Rs 2,500 crore by 2012, adding that it would roll out a range of new health products in the next few months. The India arm of the US-based firm has invested over Rs 151 crore in the country.
Almost all products sold by Amway are now manufactured locally through third-party contract manufacturers.
