Amway India Enterprises, a part of the Amway Global Community, has recorded a turnover of Rs.1128 cr in 2008 (US$231million), registering a robust growth of 40 percent over the last fiscal year.
''Amway India clocked Rs.800 cr turnover in 2007. The company aims to reach 2,500 cr turnover by 2012,'' said Amway India’s eastern region vice president Diptarag Bhattacharjee.
''We had set a target of Rs.850 cr turnover for 2008. Riding on the success of some big ticket launches and new strategic business decisions, we have been able to cross the magical figure of Rs.1,000 cr and finished with Rs.1128 cr turnover in 2008,'' he said while addressing mediapersons here yesterday.
He said the business opportunity fee was trimmed from Rs.4,400 to Rs.995 in 2008. Such strategic moves will enable the company to cross Rs.2,500 cr mark by 2012.
Bhattacharjee said Amway India, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of USD 7.2 billion Amway Corp., Ada, Michigan, USA, has invested more than Rs.151 cr in India.
The vice president of Amway India during the day launched some new colour cosmetic portfolio in the region’s market.
As per North-East region market goes, Bhattacharjee said the company has conducted around 400 training sessions in the last one year in Assam alone to boost its sales here.
Assam is one of the high growth potential states in the Northeast.
Keeping in mind the huge growth potential of Assam as well as North-East, we are intensifying our focus on Assam and other states of the region, Bhattacharjee added.
