Amway, the direct selling FMCG firm, has said it plans to invest around Rs.1.85bn ($37m) over the next three years in India, confirming its interest in the local market. The company said the money will be used to acquire land for its headquarters in the National Capital Region, as well as for opening branches in other cities.
The headquarters will require an investment of around Rs1.0bn-1.5bn, and the five to eight branches it plans to open will require an investment of about Rs.2.0bn-4.0bn each. The company presently has 127 offices and pick-up centres across India, as well as 55 warehouses.
Amway is also expanding its product offers in India, and said it aims to reach sales growth of Rs.25bn ($500m) by the fiscal year ending March 2013.
