Amway India announces record sales of Rs 251 crore in September

Direct selling company Amway India said it notched up record monthly sales of Rs 251 crore in Sept '11, compared to Rs 223 crore in the corresponding year-ago month. The firm announced it grew by over 20% in the period July-September '11 compared to the same period last year.
William Pinckney, Amway MD & CEO said in a statement that the firm's nutrition and wellness brands --Nutrilite protein powder and Nutrilite daily -- were Rs 100 crore brands each.

Amway India has record sales month, responds to legal challenges with changes

Amway India has announced to distributors that September 2011 was a record breaking month, with sales exceeding 251 crores (US$50.6 million) in one month for the first time.
The record sales has occurred despite a variety of legal challenges in the country, centered around the Indian states of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. In response to those challenges and to remove the risk of problems in the future, Amway India also announced a number of changes to their business model, beginning November 1. The most significant change is the removal of all registration fees, a change which also occured in the UK following legal challenges to Amway's multi-level business model. Other changes mean that new Amway India IBOs will need to "activate" their account within 90 days to remain registered. An IBOship will be activated through any product purchasing or sponsoring activity.
Amway India celebrates 'White Cane Day' in association with Poona School and Home for Blind Trust

The event began with road demonstration by PSHBT Officials & Amway employees, with a view to spread the awareness of the White Cane Day & to educate people on different ways to assist the visually challenged. AOF presented 200 white canes to students of PSHBT. Thereafter, students performed road show, sang songs & slogans which made the event a memorable one.

Amway India registers 39% growth in Northeast

Kohima, November 3 (MExN): Amway India Enterprises Pvt. Ltd has registered a 39 % growth in the Northeast in the first nine months of the fiscal year 2009. Amway India recorded a sales-turnover of Rs. 55.1 crore in northeast during 2008 and Nagaland at Rs. 7.43 crore during 2008. Amway India also paid taxes to the tune of Rs. 6. 34 crore in Northeast in 2008 and to the state exchequer of Nagaland, Rs. 8.9 lakh.
“Northeast, contributing a sizeable chunk of our turnover for eastern India, has witnessed 39% growth in sales during January to September 2009 over the corresponding period last year,” said Diptarag Bhattacharjee, vice president, Eastern region, Amway India during a press conference here.
